In 1977, they purchased all of the shares in the company and continued to run the business in the same downtown location. In 1966, the name was changed to Eventide Funeral Chapels and the Schmelke family of Red Deer entered into partnership. It was then bought by Brown and Johnson in 1943. It was located at 4930 -- 54th Street in Red Deer. Today, the company which stands as Eventide Funeral Chapel and Crematorium was in 1929 called Orme Funeral Home. For over 82 years, Red Deer and the community have chosen Eventide Funeral Chapel as their service provider and we are honoured and proud to be part of Red Deer?s history. At Eventide Funeral Chapel and Crematorium our mission is to always show honour and respect for the deceased, to serve families with integrity, compassion and dignity.
